Tybee Island Tybee Pier and Pavillion
Great location for fishing and people watching! It has a spectacular view and is a great fishing location. It's also a meeting place used for dances, musical performances and special events. On the premises are picnic tables, snack bar, and public restrooms. Various festivals and events are held here throughout the year. It is open daily. Free admission. The pavilion can be rented for weddings, family reunions, and other social functions.
Tybee Lighthouse
Ordered by General James Oglethorpe, Governor of the 13th colony, in 1732, the Tybee Island Light Station has been guiding mariners safe entrance into the Savannah River for over 270 years. The Tybee Island Light Station is one of America's most intact having all of its historic support buildings on its five-acre site.
Self-guided tours are available. At the Lighthouse and Head Keepers Cottage there are volunteers on hand to answer questions and there is always someone waiting for you at the top of your 178-step journey to the top!
